Ok, so maybe I'm a bit biased since I make and sell handmadejewelry, but I still think there's nothing better than handmade jewelry. Of course, I buy mass produced jewelry, but not nearly as much as I usedto.  I make far more than I buy these days.  I remember the day Iheaded down the path of handmade jewelry.  It was January 8, 2006 (ok, so I cheated and looked itup, what can I say?  I have swiss cheese memory) and I picked up a numberof things from a craft store.  I came home, planned out what I was goingto do, and when all was said and done, I had made a pair of earrings formyself.  This was my first, real piece of jewelry that I mademyself.

The only other handmade jewelry I made before that was friendship bracelets inthe late '80s and a witness bracelet that I fixed in the early 90s.  Soafter making the earrings, I wore them to my sister's house one night and afriend of hers saw them.  Of course this friend wanted a pair for herself, she does that all the time.  :)  One day out of the blue my sisterasked me if I'd make her a pair and I said of course.  Well, after findingout what colors she wanted the earrings in, I bought my materials and made herthe earrings.  So for her birthday in '07, my sister's friend receivedhandmade jewelry, a pair of earrings from me.  This was the earrings Imade for both myself and my sister's friend.
